Since 2019 we have been a sponsor of The Maple Tree Centre in Wheatley. The centre provides play-based learning activities for under fives and is somewhere for parents and carers to meet other families, get involved with hands on learning with their child and get help with the sometimes tough task of parenting. We are a family business, formed initially as a carpentry and joinery sub-contractor some 46 years ago. Our initial workload involved working on, and supplying carpenters across, multiple parts of the construction industry; from exclusive retirement apartments, large industrial buildings, colleges, religious establishments and large luxury houses.
Our focus moved on from large scale projects to smaller bespoke contracts and developments before the turn of the millennium; allowing us to work more closely with clients directly. This refocus allowed extra time to start developing the new housing part of the business which has since gone from strength to strength.
Now with numerous developments completed, built both for the retail market and for customer specification, our goal is the same as it always has been; to provide a level of service and an end product both we and our customer can be proud of. This has culminated in being nominated in the LABC Building Excellence awards 2018 and 2019 for both Building Quality and for Site Management.

Our architects have a vast knowledge and appreciation of different types of construction whilst holding considerable experience of the planning process and building regulations. Our trusted structural engineers ensure the designs hold up to the highest levels of scrutiny whilst embracing our philosophy of building better. Our construction team plan, manage, and carry out the entire construction phase whilst working collaboratively with the client.
A FOCUS ON SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
To us this means the use of renewable materials, pollution control, increasing recycling and reducing waste, use of renewable energy sources, and efficient use of resources.
- Time spent at the design stage selecting the best materials for the project, with a strong bias towards materials which are either renewable or easily recycled.
- Awareness of our activities which can create both noise and air pollution and training of all staff to limit these.
- Accurate ordering ensures the right amount of materials come to site and any waste generated is then recycled either first hand or through our recycling partners. A recent audit found that this is currently 99% of waste produced, our aim is to improve this further so we can achieve 0% landfill.
- Ensuring that our consumption levels as a company are kept to a minimum, both on site and in our offices. Use of 100% energy efficient lighting, water saving measures, and the use of renewable forms of heating, hot water and power are not just ideas or principles but standard practice.
